Blur 'N' Feather 1.01 Post Processor, Free Version Copyright (C) Bendy's 3D Systems 1999. www.bendys.com Blur 'N' Feather is an trueSpace 4.1 gaussian blur post process custom shader. The current version of Blur 'N' Feather for TS 4.1 does not have a Feather componant. It is a simply a gaussian blur filter which affects the entire image. Composition will need to be done in another program. Additionally, Blur 'N' Feather can 'burn' the colours of the blur to produce fire like effects (aLa the Afterburner Filter by Alvaro Gregori. http://www.alzira.net/macromoon/cartoon/). REQUIREMENTS: trueSpace 4.1 or above INSTALLATION: Unzip the contents of the zip file to your trueSpace 4 Shaders\Global directory. The shader will appear as 'Gaussian Blur' in the Custom ost process shader dialog. USAGE: Open the Custom post process shader dialog. Double click on 'Gaussian Blur' in the left hand 'Available' window to activate the shader. Select the shader and click properties to show the interface dialog. The filter interface contains 2 sections, Gaussian Blur and Burn. Gaussian Blur: The blur operators control the strength of the gaussian blur applied to the image. Radius controls the strength of the blur, falloff controls the importance of distant pixels. Burn: Colour burn works similarly to Afterburner, a Photoshop filter by Alvaro Gregori used to remap the colours of an image to a flame-like colour map. Here, the colour burning replaces the blurred pixel with a colour based on the intensity of the blurred pixel. Select the burn option to activate the burn process. The colourmap ranges from black to red to yellow to white and the positions of each within the colourmap can be controlled with the red/yellow/white controls. Additional: The final three controls are, OK (the green button), Cancel (the red) and Percentage. The radius setting is usually specified in pixels. In percentage mode Blur 'N' Feather calculates the radius as a percentage of the image size. This allows you to render your blur to different resolutions without having to change Blur 'N' Feather settings. UPGRADE: There will soon be a full version of Blur 'N' Feather for TS 4 with full mask operations. Check in at http://www.bendys.com from time to time to see if it's done. The full version contains the following major enhancements: Mask operations Load/Save of Blur 'N' Feather parameters. Falloff values specified in x and y directions. File export to TGA. Progress and mask preview. Enhanced colour burning. VERSION HISTORY 1.01: Fixed colour burn bug which prevented burnt colour from appearing in render-to-file images.
